Baby gift: the guide to getting it right (and making parents happy)
The secret to a good baby gift lies in two ideas: the right size, and what parents will actually use.
When Sasha was born, we received eleven newborn-size bodysuits. Adorable, and worn for three weeks. Since then, we have been giving differently, and we have composed our gift sets with this experience in mind. Here is what we have learned, so that your gift is the one parents remember.
1. The size: aim three months ahead
A newborn measures 50 cm on average and grows nearly 10 cm in three months. Size 56 (1 month) is worn for a few weeks; 62 (3 months) and 68 (6 months) are the ones parents desperately look for when all the baby gifts have become too small. Giving "a little large" is never a mistake: babies always grow into it.
2. What parents actually use
- SleepsuitsThe outfit for the first three months, day and night. In soft cotton, with press studs at the crotch: you change them twice a day.
- Cotton bibsThere are never enough, and cotton ones absorb better than plastic-coated ones. A set of bibs is a humble and always successful gift.
- A comforterLight, machine washable, without small parts. The comforter given at birth often becomes the comforter.
- An "out and about" setA lovely outfit for the first visit to the grandparents or the birth announcement photo. Size 68, so it can be used at the right time.
3. What to avoid
Shoes (a baby doesn't walk before one year), complicated outfits to put on (buttons at the back, tight collars), synthetic materials on a newborn's skin, and anything that requires hand washing. Parents of infants don't hand wash anything.

Frequently asked questions
Girl or boy, should you choose?
Many of our gift sets are neutral (ecru, sand, sage). If you do not know the name, it is the safest choice.
Can I have it delivered directly to the parents?
Yes: indicate their delivery address and yours for billing. No prices are included in the parcel.
And a gift card?
To let the parents choose the size and the season, it is the most flexible option. Write to us and we will send it to you.
Can the gift set be exchanged?
Yes, within 14 days, item unworn with its tags. Parents can write to us at info@sasha-noah.ch with the order number.
